Desktop Phones (Physical Phones)

Prepare your phone by assembling it.

  • Utilize the instructions provided with your device to assemble the components of your phone.

  • Use the handset cord to connect the handset to the phone base.

Be sure not to connect the headset cord to the handset port on the phone base.

Plug in to a power source.

  • Your phone can be powered by its power adapter or Power over Ethernet (PoE).

  • Plug the power adapter into a standard wall outlet and the other end into the phone's power port if you are using one.

  • If using PoE, skip to Step 3.

Establish an internet connection.

  • Connect the network port on your phone to the network port on your router or network wall outlet.

  • Power over Ethernet (PoE) powered phones require a PoE switch connected to the network.

  • If your phone is Wi-Fi enabled, you can use it via Wi-Fi. Because Wi-Fi signals can be unreliable, logixx recommends connecting via ethernet cable when your phone supports it, due to the varying reliability of Wi-Fi signals.

Make sure your phone is active and online.

  • The phone's screen will display the name of the extension's profile and the date and time set by the extension when the phone is fully activated online.

  • If a phone is unassigned or purchased in advance, the display will show Phone User Removed or an abbreviation thereof. A user extension must be assigned to the unassigned phone.

Make a test call
