SMS Config Settings

Start by accessing the SMS Config settings menu from: settings/site/company/opt-out-configs menu.

Enabling Opt-Out

When the opt-out feature is enabled, the recipient of an SMS can choose to discontinue receiving messages. They can reply with the word “STOP” to any message they receive in order to Opt-Out.

What Happens When a User Opts Out?

Once a user has opted-out, several actions are triggered to respect their decision:

  1. Confirmation: The recipient receives a confirmation message acknowledging that they have successfully opted-out as requested.

  2. Visual Indicator: The SMS icon for the Cell Phone field associated with the app turns red. This is a clear visual indicator for CRM users that the recipient has chosen to opt- out of SMS communication.

  3. Restriction on Communication: CRM users are restricted from sending an SMS to the user's phone number. This ensures that the user’s decision to opt-out is respected and no further messages are sent without their consent.

Opting Back In

The system also provides an option for users to opt back in. If a recipient decides to start receiving messages again, they can reply to or send a message to the CRM user’s phone number with the word “START.” This flexibility ensures that the recipient always retains control of communication.
