Underwriting Tab

Underwriting is a powerful tool that helps automate and streamline the underwriting process. It uses a set of rules and algorithms to evaluate and analyze applicant data, such as credit scores, financial history, and other relevant information, to determine the level of risk associated with the applicant.

To run underwriting, click "Run underwriting" and wait for the system to notify you that the results are ready.

Once the underwriting has run, wait for the system to notify you that the results are ready.

Underwriting Results

The UW results page shows an overall result for each unique UW Profile and individual UW Policies. The user must expand the menu to view individual policy results.

Both overall and individual results can return three possible statuses: Passed, Conditional, or Failed.

Passed

All policies in a policy group must result in a pass for an overall Pass.

Conditional

An overall UW Profile result will indicate Conditional if at least one Conditional policy exists, which can be overridden by a Reviewer, when a policy is revised because of a manual review, details such as who reviewed the policy and when are included.

Failed

A UW Profile will show as Failed if at least one policy has failed. A reviewer cannot overwrite a failed policy.

Underwriting policies:

Underwriting policies are a set of individual conditions and criteria used to create underwriting (UW) guidelines. These policies aim to streamline the underwriting process by employing data validation techniques, ensuring objective and consistent decision-making.

Note:
If service plan is not yet selected, underwriting will not run.

Expiration (Days)

UW policies can be set to expire after a certain number of days. In certain organizations, it might be necessary to review applications for approval after a specific number of days to ensure that the latest information meets the approval criteria. By enabling this option for a policy, the Automated UW feature will verify that the UW results still meet the specific policy's requirements. If they don't, it will be displayed as "Expired."

If the underwriting result has expired, it needs to be re-run.
